RESIDENTS in Bury North are being urged to be on their guard following a spate of burglaries.
Police received reports of 17 burglaries or attempted burglaries in seven days from November 4 to 11, affecting homes in Elton, North Manor, Church, Bury East, Ramsbottom, Moorside and Redvales.
A post on GMP Bury North's Facebook page read: “Please be mindful and take precautions, use light timers, if you will be out after dark, make sure you check all your windows and doors.
“If you have an alarm make sure it’s working and set it before retiring for the night.”
Anyone requiring security advice is asked to call 0161 856 8181 to arrange for a local police community support officer to visit.
