A BURY College beauty student has been praised.

HND Beauty Management student Caitlin Saull has been highly commended within the category of Outstanding BTEC Higher National Student of the Year.

The accolade came at the BTEC Awards 2016, after her exceptional contribution to Bury College University Centre.

The BTEC Awards 2016 are an opportunity for students, teachers, schools and colleges to be recognised for and to celebrate their achievements in career based learning.

Caitlin was nominated for the prestigious award by her Bury College tutors, and although she just missed reaching the finals, the judges awarded her the status of commended in the category.

The 23-year-old from Prestwich said: “To receive this type of recognition is wonderful and I am honoured to be commended as an outstanding student.

“I have enjoyed my time at Bury College University Centre and I look forward to my progression to the Certificate in Education next year.

“All of my tutors have helped me to progress academically, professionally and personally by allowing me to be a part of the Student Rep group and QAA review and I thank them for these opportunities.”

The former St Monica’s RC High School pupil added: “I am really enjoying my time at Bury College University Centre. The tutors are great and there is always help available. Once I have completed my HND I would then like to progress onto a Certificate in Education.”
