A RAMSBOTTOM school is celebrating after a "monumental shift" in its latest Ofsted report.

Peel Brow School was given a good rating in the report which marked a change from the last two reports which concluded the school "required improvement."

Following the previous inspection, school leaders tackled the changes needed to make rapid improvements.

The latest report said: "Records show that progress has accelerated over time, particularly in writing.

"All pupils currently in the school are achieving well. This includes pupils who have special educational needs or disabilities and those who are disadvantaged.

"Rigorous staff performance management targets and well-focused professional development have successfully raised the quality of teaching to good."

The report also pointed out that most parents expressed positive view and all children were happy there.

Also that children were well prepared for the next stage of their education.

Head teacher Danny Miller was delighted with the inspection result and said it marked a “monumental shift” from the previous two inspections. He added: "It really was a rigorous two days. They left no stone unturned and unpicked everything. It certainly was most demanding with them exploring every aspect of the school. It was a fair process and gave a true reflection of Peel Brow School."
