MORE than 100 youngsters have tested out their superhero skills in a special event at The Rock.

The family fun day was organised in aid of The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity and took place on what would have been Josh’s 16th Birthday.

Spiderman, Batman and Superwoman hosted a superhero skills camp for the children who came to see their favourite comic book heroes, while 50 superhero-themed cupcakes were quickly snapped up by shoppers.

Donations at the event, boosted by a cake sale at Primark, totalled over £800, with youngsters also able to enjoy facepainting and superhero mask-making sessions.

Linzi Atkinson, Marketing and Tenant Liaison Manager at The Rock, said: "We were delighted that so many people came to support this event, with many dressing up as their favourite superhero character. It was an honour to celebrate Josh’s legacy and spread awareness of the great work the charity does.

"Our target for the day was £500 so we are delighted to have raised over £800 for our partner charity. Thanks to Dawn and the SuperJosh team for helping us put on such a fabulous event."
