STAR student Emma Carter will be heading to Oxford University after getting top grades at Bury Grammar School.
The 18-year-old, from Edgworth, will read Geography at Keble College after gaining gained 2 A* and 2 A grades with a further A* in her Extended Project.
Emma, who studied Geography, English Literature, French, and Maths at the Bridge Road school, said: “I was so nervous coming in to get my results, and I went off and opened them by myself.
“A lot of the hard work to get an offer for Oxford had been done in the Christmas term, and I’m so glad it has all paid off.
“My parents were so happy when I told them and I think I had a feeling of relief more than anything after all that work.”
