A BURY man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was attacked.
Paul Andrews, aged 43, of Chestnut Avenue, Bury, faces charges of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a hammer.
He is in police custody and is due to appear before Bury Magistrates' Court later on today.

It concerns an alleged hammer attack on a woman on Sunday in Oakcliffe Road, Rochdale.
The woman was taken to hospital where she remains in serious but stable condition.
