BURY-based craft brewer The Silver Street Brewing Company is moving to new premises at Britannia Mill.

The company is investing more than £100,000 in new production facilities to meet increasing demand for its artisan beer.

Silver Street brews a range of popular ales such as EQ, Ruby Ruby Ruby, Session ale, One and Fire Island, which are served in arts and entertainment venues in the North West, including HOME in Manchester.

Since announcing the move, Silver Street has also secured national distribution with UK LWC, which supplies more than 750 pubs and bars in Greater Manchester.

Lee Williams, sales manager for LWC Drinks in Greater Manchester, said he was excited by the expansion and is promising customers more beer in more bars.

He said: “We are increasingly asked by our customers to supply premium products with local provenance Silver Street consistently delivers this and we look forward to being able to offer its beer to more bars and pubs across Greater Manchester.”

The Silver Street Brewing Company started as a four-barrel operation in the basement The Clarence in Bury.

However, demand has outstripped the micro-breweries capacity to supply from this premises and under the stewardship of head brewer, Craig Adams, Silver Street will be increasing production to 19 barrels and moving into cask ale with a new kegging facility.

Mr Adams said: “Demand for our beer, since we started brewing just over a year ago, has been incredible and to have secured two listings with LWC is a huge boost to our plans to grow the business.”
