FOUR youngsters have been rewarded for years of dedicated work with the nation’s leading first aid charity.

At a recent St John Ambulance presentation evening, Anthony Pilling, Adam Henderson, Michael Carbert and Ryan Henderson all received their Super Badger awards, the highest accolade a Badger can receive.

To be eligible for the awards, which were presented by the Mayor of Bury, the boys had to complete activities in 12 Badger subjects, including first aid, communication, and safety.

Among the other members of the Radcliffe group receiving awards on the night was cadet Sebastien Rollinson, who got his Grand Prior award.

Fellow members Peter Ward and Anthony Blomley received certificates for completing incredible totals of 750 and 1000 hours voluntary work in one year, and Elaine Bailey received a fifth bar to her long service medal.

St John Ambulance meet at their headquarters in Sion Street, Radcliffe on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 9pm.

Anyone aged seven to 10 can join a Badger Sett to get involved with activities such as camping, arts and crafts, and team games.
