IT was a better year for men learning to drive than women last year.
A larger percentage of male motorists than female motorists passed their driving tests in Bury.
Latest figures released from the Office for National Statics show a 49.7 per cent pass rate among men, and boys aged 17, for tests taken during six months between April and September 2016.
For women, the pass rate was 38.8 per cent in the same period.
In total, 2,775 driving tests were taken in the borough during the period, with 1,206 people passing, giving an overall success average of 43.5 per cent.
The most fruitful time to take a test was in August.
