A FATHER is planning a life in the fast lane after scooping £247,513 in the EuroMillions draw.

Andrew Nabb says the win could not have come at a better time – having been in and out of jobs for the past year.

The 33-year-old added that the cash will also make a massive difference to his quality of life – enabling him to treat his three children, Harrison, aged 11, Ashton, aged seven and two-year-old Lacie-Mae, to a family holiday to Tenerife.

The single dad also plans to pass his driving test and buy his dream car, an Audi A3.

Mr Nabb, of Walmersley, said: “I just can’t get over it. It hasn’t sunk in yet and every time I look at my bank balance it shocks me.

“It’s amazing and totally life-changing. Not only is it life-changing for me – it is life-changing for my family too.

“I’m really looking forward to going abroad with my three children.

“The win will also enable me to pay for driving lessons and buy a car too – something I never believed I would be able to do.”

Mr Nabb won a Lucky Dip ticket, which he bought from Bargain Booze in Walmersley Road, after matching five numbers and a Lucky Star. He checked the ticket purely by chance after popping into his local shop.

He said: “I was just doing my weekend chores and popped into my local shop for a few items and I suddenly remembered I hadn’t checked my ticket.”

Mr Nabb said as the cashier checked the ticket the machine made a noise and she told him to call Camelot.

He added: “I just thought there must have been a mistake. I immediately rushed home and phoned Camelot and the lady on the end of the line broke the best news of my life to me that I had won almost a quarter of a million pounds.

“I had to ask her to keep repeating herself – I just kept thinking this cannot be true – this cannot happen to me. I didn’t know whether to scream with excitement or burst into tears. It just seemed so surreal.”

Mr Nabb, a steel fitter, previously worked as an electrical engineer for more than 16 years before leaving last year.

He added: “The win will just make life so much easier for me in so many ways.

“I’ve already passed my driving theory test and I’ve been saving up to pay for my driving lessons. Now with this win, I’ll finally be able to get behind the wheel of a car and then hopefully buy my dream car, an Audi A3.

“I don’t know many people who can say their first ever vehicle will be an Audi. But thanks to The National Lottery mine will be.”

Mr Nabb also has his eyes on a new three-bedroom house for himself and his three children.

He added: “My kids are my world. I’ll do anything I can to give them a helping hand in life, starting with the perfect home to grow up in.

“My eldest understands about the win and has already told me about a few things he would like. It’s amazing to have the money to properly treat my children now.

“My friend’s just launched his clothing line Infinity North and they’ve got some really nice gear so I’ve splashed out and got myself a new wardrobe and trainers.”

Andrew said he has no intention to stop playing EuroMillions.

He explained: “I’ve won once, I can win again. Lightning can strike twice.”

His winning numbers were: three, four, 15, 46, 50 and the Lucky Star 5.
