THE countdown is on to raise a glass for the12th Forever Bury Festival.

The popular event is being organised to take place in the Pymgate Lounge at Bury FC’s Gigg Lane ground from May 11 to 13.

Organiser Dave Giffard is looking for local companies to get behind the event by sponsoring a beer or advertising in the programme.

Fluid Connections of Nottinghamshire has supplied all the push fit manifolds and connections along with 70 metres of 15mm tubing for the cooling system.

AirCon Spares of Manchester has donated all the pipe lagging needed. Emerald Polymers, of Galway, has donated a couple of Eco Keg tools valued at more than 300 euros.

Mr Giffard said: "One problem we had to overcome was losing TNT as our Logistics Sponsors. It was down to its support that we could bring in some fabulous beers from small breweries around the country so we must thank them for all the support they gave us.

"Thankfully, Bibby Distribution has stepped in which has enabled us to carry on contacting breweries and sourcing the beers. 1,034 breweries have been contacted so far and we are on track with getting the 55 beers we need as 51 having already been promised and there are still about 300 more breweries to try."

There will also be 20 ciders available at the festival.

Mr Giffard said: "As we are once again supporting The Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity, we are now looking for band that might want to help by playing at one of the evening sessions. We are also on the lookout for raffle prizes with all the raffle proceeds going to the charity."

Anyone who can help distribute posters and flyers should contact Mr Giffard at davegiffard@talktalk.net

The festival will be open from 11m to 11pm daily.
