SUPERJOSH founder Dawn Fidler brings you her latest blog

WE’VE had another busy week of fundraising, and there are a few people I’d like to say a special thank you to.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who has enjoyed a super special SuperJosh cocktail at The Clarence.

We receive a 50p donation for every cocktail, and so far £431.50 has been raised!

Alice Cother, duty manager at The Clarence said: “It’s great being able to offer continued support to the work Josh's charity does helping families and an honour to have created an iconic drink for a local hero."

If you haven’t already tried it, you really should . . . to combine Josh’s love of cake, and my love of gin, the mixologists at The Clarence created this Bakewell tart-themed cocktail using sloe “Bury” gin, and it is delicious.

Last week we hosted the Mayor of Bury's Charity Race Night at Bury FC which was a huge success, and raised £1,210 for his three chosen charities; Bury Alzheimer's, SuperJosh and Annabelle's Challenge.

It was a great night, thanks to everyone who attended and supported with sponsorship.

Special thanks to our volunteers, Peter Bury, Billingtons for the amazing pies and Bury Business Lodge for lending us the projector.

We can't say a big enough thank you to The Mercer Group are still hard at work helping Hashim and his family get their house back on track.

We are now in week three of our project and more than half way through.

The walls have now been plastered and the skirting boards will be going up shortly.

Next step will be to start the decorating. The offers of support and assistance from business all over the North West have been amazing, and I can never thank everyone enough. If you want to stay up to date on Twitter, follow #HelpHashim #SuperJoshDIYSOS

Next week we are involved in a number of events in and around Bury, including collecting with the PADOS Youth Group during their performance of Avenue Q at the newly revamped Met Theatre.

Helen Wilkinson, principal of the junior and youth groups, said: “During the show there’s a part where our cast come out into the audience and look for voluntary cash contributions, we thought it was an ideal opportunity to raise some funds for SuperJosh and have some fun during the process.”

As long as no one is expecting us to sing, we should be okay!

Big thanks to the PADOS Youth Group for its kind support for Josh's legacy helping other families.
