A NEW food and drink festival is launching in Bury, with a range of eating competitions to please foodies from across the borough.

The Big Grill Festival UK is bringing a mix of food and music to Burrs Country Park on July 15 and 16.

Set among epic scale barbecues, meat smokers, sizzling street food vendors, craft ale and quirky cocktail bars, willing participants can partake in the festival’s Eats To The Beats food challenges.

There will be a number of artists performing around the venue on acoustic and electronic music stages and inside a DJ tent.

Organiser Jools Taylor, who also organises the popular tribute festival Festwich, in Prestwich, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing The Big Grill UK to Burrs Country Park in Bury.

“The park is the ideal site for our festival and we are really excited about everything the event has to offer.

“Tickets are limited in quantity and are expected to go fast.”

A host of bands including The Phonics, a tribute to The Stereophonics, will headline on Saturday night, before Kings Ov Leon tribute bring the festival to a crescendo on Sunday night.
