CARNIVAL lovers are being urged to once again help out one of the town’s greatest traditions in 2017.

With the 52nd annual Radcliffe Carnival less than two months away, organisers are still in need of volunteers to help with a variety of tasks for the event.

This year’s carnival will be held on the weekend of June 3 and 4.

Residents are being asked to offer their services in a number of ways, including as committee members, parade marshals, field organisers, programme sellers, leaflet distributors or sound technicians.

As usual, the committee is also asking for as many local clubs and community groups as possible to take part in the annual parade through the town centre.

Despite having to cut back on the budget for last year’s event after going all out for the 50th anniversary carnival, a great time was had by all and the hope is for another fantastic occasion this time around in 2017.

To volunteer, enter the parade, or if you would like to organise a display or stall on Red Bank Field for this year’s carnival, people should call 07830 112123 or email wendyboardman@yahoo.com.
