THE Band and the Corps of Drums of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Lancashire) are to host a charity concert to raise funds for the Fusilier museum.

The band who will celebrate their 20th anniversary this year are planning on hosting the special concert on Saturday 10th June, 7.30pm at the Drill Hall, Bury. The band will also be joined by the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers band Warwickshire and Accrington Pipe band for what promises to be a spectacular musical celebration.

Based at Castle Armoury in Bury, the Band and Drum Corps of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Lancashire) was founded by its current president to keep alive the tradition of the former constituent regiments; The Lancashire Fusiliers XX and The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. The band performs regularly in the local area and at venues across the UK as well as providing entertainment at military functions and dinners.

Colonel Eric Davidson, President of the Band and Drum Corps of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (Lancashire) said "To celebrate our 20th anniversary we wanted to do something special which also raised valuable funds for the museum at the same time. The event promises to be a musical extravaganza and is a must for any band or military music fan to attend. We are all looking forward to taking part in the concert and performing in our home town of Bury once again.”

Tickets are now on sale for the concert and are available from the Tourist Information Centre within the Fusilier museum. Tickets are priced at £10 each and include refreshments. All monies raised from the concert will go towards the general running of the museum.
