DEMOLITION work at the site of the blaze in Bury yesterday has yet to start but council officers are determining what needs to come down.
The fire yesterday afternoon in Park Road, which collapsed the roof of a skip hire business is thought to have been started after embers from a burning pile of waste spread.
A spokesman for Bury Council said: "We have been dealing with this site overnight and we have a Building Control officer on site at the moment determining the next steps and the extent of demolition needed.
"We are now in a position to reopen the East Lancs Railway for this weekend’s activities, but Park Road will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
"We are also working on business continuity plans with the owners of several adjoining industrial units."
At the time of writing fire crews were still at the scene but the fire was well under control according to a Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesman.
The fire investigation will be underway soon.
A spokesman for East Lancashire Railway confirmed the railway was running as normal and train times had not been affected.
He added a staff member had been up the tracks this morning to check there was no damage.
