A MEDICAL practice has been given the thumbs up by inspectors.

Garden City Medical Practice received an overall ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission, following its latest inspection in March.

CQC Inspectors carried out a full inspection of the practice on March 15, before it received a rating of ‘good’ in all areas.

The CQC focuses on areas including safety, effectiveness, being caring, responsive and well led.

Patients and staff are benefitting from a range of improvements that have been put in place since its last inspection in June, 2016.

Internal systems and processes were highlighted at the time as needing improvement and these issues have since been addressed.

Charlotte Kelly, practice manager at Garden City, said: “The whole team at Garden City is dedicated to providing high quality and responsive patient care.

“We are absolutely committed to ensuring that we are a caring, effective, safe, responsive and well-led practice, a practice to be proud of, and are delighted that this has been recognised through our ‘good’ rating from the CQC.

“We are grateful for the continued support of our loyal patients and staff and the team are looking forward to a prosperous and exciting future at Garden City Medical Centre.”

A CQC spokesman said: “Providing the highest quality care is a top priority for the practice and recent feedback captured from patients was that they provide an exceptional service and have a genuine focus on care.

“Patients felt they received a good service from the caring, friendly doctors, nursing and practice staff, and feel lucky to have the practice in the local community.”

Some improvements put in place over the past year include a new patient group to ensure that patients are equal partners in key practice issues; introduction of Saturday vaccination clinics to meet demand over the winter, and website updates. It has also been registered as dementia friendly.
