BURY Hospice held their annual Volunteers Long Service Awards at the Lancashire Fusilier Museum last Tuesday.

Trustee Noreen Kershaw presented the awards to more than 40 volunteers who had amassed five, ten or 15 years service to the Hospice.

Sam Duncan, Head of Trading and Volunteer Services at the hospice, said: "Bury Hospice couldn't run without our superb volunteers who work in our lottery department, our warehouse, gardens and shops and on the clinical side and more.

"The recipients of awards this year collectively contributed 435 years' service to the hospice which is a staggering amount and they are invaluable to us. The length of service shows how, once they volunteer, they love being a vital part of Bury Hospice.

"This event is our way of showing how much they mean to us."
