BURY actress Gemma Atkinson was nearly waltzing off into the Strictly sunset tonight.

The 33-year-old and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec found themselves in the bottom two of the Strictly Coming Dancing semi-final tonight and fighting for a place in the Grand Final.

Standing in her way was The Saturdays' Molly King and partner AJ Pritchard, who danced a waltz to Sarah McLachlan's Ange.

The former Emmerdale star and Aljaz took their tango to The Knack's My Sharona for one last outing on the dancefloor.

It was enough to impress the judges who voted unanimously to save the duo, but Mollie was quick to praise her Bury rival.

She told Strictly presenter Tess Daly that Gemma and Aljaz "totally deserved" their place in the show as they had "danced their socks off".

Gemma will now appear in the Strictly Come Dancing Grand Final along with Joe McFadden, Debbie McGee and Alexandra Burke, at 6.30pm on Saturday, on BBC One.
