STAFF and children at a Bury preschool are celebrating after receiving and Outstanding report by Ofsted.

Little Acorns Preschool in Parkhills Road was given the top grading in every area, following an inspected by the watchdog on March 23.

The preschool, which had previously been rated good, was described as having a "very strong family feel which nurtures children's well-being exceptionally well."

The report praised the preschool's teaching as "exemplary", adding that staff "are excellent teachers that engage children in learning through dynamic activities" and "ensure that all activities motivate children to learn."

Staff were further praised for their close team work and for sharing "the same drive, passion and enthusiasm."

And Support for children with special educational needs and physical disabilities was similarly given a glowing report by the regulator.

Inspectors further highlighted the outstanding outcomes for children who attend Little Acorns.

The report said: "All children make excellent progress in their learning and development.

"They are extremely confident and self-assured and have a thirst for learning and exploration.

"They are encouraged to make decisions, be independent and collaboratively work alongside others.

"They are highly motivated and are prepared with the key skills they will need for school and future learning."

The preschool was also recognised for its effective safeguarding and management.

Jill Mallen, Little Acorns manager, said: "We have an ambitious vision for every child whatever their starting point, we aspire to see them grow and develop and flourish.

"We believe that at Little Acorns children know they are loved, valued and cared for and that it truly is a place of love, laughter and learning.

"Our vision as a team is for a person centred approach in all we do, to do to others as we would want them to do to us, to create a positive culture and a sense of achievement and commitment and an infectious 'can-do' attitude.
