A WOMAN was taken to hospital after suffering a leg injury in a crash which resulted in a car hitting a wall.
Police were called to Ainsworth Road, close to the junction with Greenhill Road, at about 4.50pm to reports of a collision involving a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Focus.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service confirmed that a lady in her 70s was taken to Fairfield Hospital with leg injuries leg following the crash, although it is not yet known how serious they were.
A garden wall was also badly damaged after the Volkswagen crashed into it.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called to Ainsworth Road at about 4.50pm to reports of a collision involving a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Focus.
"It looks like the Volkswagen has ended up colliding with a wall. One of the drivers has a leg injury."
