SHE'S got it nailed!

That's Whitefield businesswoman Sue Riley who is literally lending a hand to help propel people into a career in health and beauty.

Sue has launched her own nail training academy at her Palm Tree Beauty salon in the town's Victoria Square. She offers a three-day course in nail extensions and separate one-day training programmes embracing nail art and manicure and pedicure.

All successful candidates will receive certificates which are not only fully recognised by the nail industry but are also insurable.

Sue (44), explained: "Palm Tree has been open for 21 years and I've been doing nails for 11 of these years. The training is designed as foundation courses for beginners and have been created to meet the needs and expectations of every student."

The three-day course will focus primarily on acrylic and gel-tip and overlay nail extensions and the learning will be combined with theory and training embracing hygiene, health and safety, nail anatomy, nail diseases and disorders.

Added Sue: "At the end, they can go away and practise and then come back to the salon for a half day practical assessment. They can bring either a friend, family member or model and demonstrate a full set of acrylic extensions. Only on successful completion will the certificate be awarded."
