A CARETAKER can finally put her feet up after 29 years of working at a Radcliffe school.
Diane Skelton joined Radcliffe Primary School in 1979 to oversee any work that needed doing on the site, from liaising with cleaners to getting quotes for repair work.
Over the years, she has met thousands of youngsters and seen them progress through the school. But now, Mrs Skelton, of Normandy Crescent, Radcliffe, is retiring due to ill health.

Staff held a party on Friday to say goodbye to the long-standing caretaker. They also presented her with a gift of a crystal bear ornament.
Mrs Skelton (58) said: "I am very sad to leave and didn't want to go after all this time. There are so many people there that I have known for a long time. I really enjoyed my job and meeting all the people, and that why I ended up staying for so long. I will miss everything about it."
Mrs Skelton says she will visit the Coronation Road school during her retirement. She also plans to spend more time with her husband, Barry, two children, and two grandchildren.
