A SWIMMING club made a real splash when they raised £1,000 for Bury Hospice.
Betty Grobbelaar, a retired receptionist at Radcliffe Pool, returns there every Thursday to hold a raffle during the ladies only session.
And in just ten months, she has raised £1,000, which was presented to Linda Janicki, team leader at the hospice, last Thursday.

Mervyn Reeves, fundraising manager for the hospice, said: "We are delighted to have the swim club's support and are very glad that Betty decided to continue with the raffle, which has raised so much money for the hospice.
