THE East Lancashire Railway is staging two special events in February.
On Saturday, February 7, train buffs can travel back in time to the days when slam-door diesel multiple units (DMUs) were the mainstay of the country’s rail services.
The following day, Sunday, February 8, will also feature one of ELR’s heritage multiple units working alongside a steam-hauled service.
ELR is also to hold a Steam Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, February 21 and 22. Attractions include an early morning freight train, Bury-Ramsbottom shuttles and the use of a number of locomotives.
