Pub beats ban with electronic cigarettes

A PUB is beating the smoking ban by offering customers electronic cigarettes.

The Parkfield Inn in Park Lane, Whitefield, is selling the device, which looks and acts like the real thing, but is battery operated and tobacco free.

It gives users a hint of nicotine and the sensation of smoking, but has none of the tar, toxins or smell found in tobacco products.

Miguel Corral, a Bury-based entrepreneur, distributes electronic cigarettes through his company NJOY-UK, and has seen sales of more than £200,000 since launching the product in November.

Landlady of The Parkfield Inn, Anneli Brannon, thinks the device could revive the pub industry.

She said: “Six pubs are closing every day in the UK and one reason is undoubtedly the impact of the smoking ban.

“But what’s great about something like the electronic cigarette is that people who want to smoke with a pint or glass of wine can enjoy a realistic cigarette experience without having to go outside in the cold, or stay at home.

“A lot of our customers who are smokers have already bought one, and it’s really helped improve the atmosphere in the Parkfield and our takings.”

Electronic cigarettes can be smoked legally in public places as they don’t contain tobacco so are not classed as cigarettes.

Mr Corral said: “For any businesses affected by the smoking ban they are the perfect solution.

“They give smokers the sensation of smoking and a hit of nicotine yet they are tobacco-free and odourless.”

Quitting smoking is difficult. It involves not only giving up the addiction to nicotine, but also giving up the oral fixation and other triggers involved in the addiction to the "act" of smoking itself.

3 months ago I found out about a new product I had never heard of before. It's a Green Smoke electronic cigarette. It looks/feels like a real cigarette. The filter part is actually an atomizer that vaporizes liquid nicotine in the filter cartridge. This vapor inhales and exhales like smoke and looks just like smoke! It really does simulate the sensation of smoking. This vapor contains no tar, no cancer causing substances so it is much safer than actual cigarettes. You can actually smoke this anywhere, even in stores. The water vapor disappears almost immediately and has no odor whatsoever.

The company offers nicotine cartridges from 8mg down to 0mg. You can ween slowly off of nicotine while your smoking habit is still being fulfilled. Once you are off the addiction to nicotine, it's easier to give up the "act" of smoking. I've used it successfully. I am so thankful for this product and I just want others to know about it.

I hope this helps someone...
