Fruity drinks future for pupils

SCHOOLCHILDREN at Emmanuel Holcombe CE Primary School are leading the healthy eating revolution.

Youngsters at the school in Helmshore Road held a smoothie day to raise money to buy their own smoothie-maker.

Children and parents brought in fruit to make a range of healthy drinks, which they sold to each other and staff for 50p each.

The money raised will now go towards buying a brand new machine for Year Six pupils to make their own smoothies on a regular basis.

The event was organised by the school’s PTA committee after the children said they wanted to make their own healthy snacks.
