A 22-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with attempted murder and other offences after a series of shootings and disturbances in Bury over the last few months.
Tauyyab Ulshan Amin, of Royal Avenue, Bury, was arrested last Wednesday in Lancashire following police inquiries to trace him.
He was later charged with attempted murder, possession of a firearm and affray.
Amin appeared at Bury Magistrates' Court last Friday and was remanded in custody to appear at Bolton Crown Court on July 31.
The attempted murder and possession of firearm charges relate to an incident on Tuesday, June 19 when a man was shot at in Pimhole Road in Bury. Nobody was injured in the incident.
The affray relates to an incident on the afternoon of Saturday, March 24 when a man was shot and seriously assaulted in Heywood Street in Bury.
The victim was shot in the leg and suffered gashes to his back.
Six other men have also been charged in connection with this incident, bringing the total number of suspects to seven. Three were remanded in custody and three were bailed after their first court appearance.
