A THREE-DAY celebration of whistle-based folk music starts tonight at The Met.
The Big Whistle Weekend features concerts, sessions and workshops, the acts including Flook, Cherish the Ladies, and Dochas.

The Winelight Club returns on Tuesday with Paul Handyside (ex Hurrah), Jess Gardham, Daniel Pearson and Jason Dunkley. The thundering Japanese rhythms of the Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers arrive on Wednesday, while a comedy Sex and Chocolate is staged by MsFits next Thursday.

Also on Thursday is folk music legend Peggy Seeger, augmented by Norma Waterson, Mike Waterson and Martin Carthy.
Norwegian singer/songwriter Ane Brun plays on Friday May 16, accompanied by Tobias Froberg.
The same night also brings us Connie Lush and Blues Shouter, with special guests the Will Tang Trio.
The best in local rock talent is presented in Big Rock Saturday (May 17) featuring I-DEF-I, Jupitar Sands, Slain At His Altar, and Void.
And also on May 17, Bury's own baroque 'n' rollers Molly Bloom will showcase new material and old favourites, with support from Pie.
