FORMER Emmerdale star Lisa Riley took to the stage to help raise thousands of pounds for Bury Hospice.
The Tottington actress persuaded the producers to bring her latest show to Bury for two charity performances inspired by the care both Lisa's mother, Cath, and grandmother, Pat, received when they were suffering from cancer.
The Naked Truth is a play about a group of women who become friends at a pole dancing class and the cast includes Coronation Street's Jayne Tunnicliffe (Yana Lumb) and Samantha Seager (Jodie Morton).
They performed at The Met in Bury on Wednesday and Thursday last week and were cheered on by Coronation Street actor Anthony Cotton and playwright Willy Russell, who were in the audience.
The play raised £3,630 for the Dumers Lane hospice through ticket sales, a raffle, and an auction.
Among the prizes on offer were a signed and framed Wayne Rooney shirt, four tickets to the eXtra Factor musical in Preston, a tennis racquet signed by Greg Rusedski, a signed Phil Neville shirt, and a tour of the Coronation Street set.

Lesley Marsh, community fundraiser for the hospice, said: "Lisa really worked hard to raise as much money as she could for the hospice. The show was a great hit amongst the audience, who clapped and cheered as the girls' stories unfolded and the truth came out."
