NATASHA Holt was singing with joy after winning the vocal category at the Bury Young Musician of the Year competition.

The 16-year-old, who attends St Gabriel's High School, Bury, was named best singer at the event at Bury Grammar School for Boys.

Emma Rushworth (11), also from St Gabriel's, won the instrumental category. The annual competition is organised by Tottington and Bury West Rotary Club.

Seven schools entered pupils into this year's event, with 11 pupils competing across the two categories.
