A CRIMINAL has been sent back to prison after he was discovered on the roof of a bank in Bury.
John Powell, aged 30, was found stranded above the Barclays Bank in Silver Street at 1am last Friday. Firefighters from Bolton were called to the scene to help with the incident.
Police eventually persuaded the man to climb down. He was taken to Fairfield General Hospital suffering from a suspected fractured ankle, although it is unclear how he sustained the injury.
It is believed Powell climbed on to the roof of the 40ft building following a domestic argument.
A police spokesman confirmed Powell, who is from Manchester, was out of prison on licence. He was returned to jail after breaching the conditions.

Of course that was the reason. Why didn't he just climb Holcombe Hill instead?
