A helicopter has crash-landed in the grounds of the Bolholt Country Park Hotel in Bury this afternoon.

The pilot, now confirmed as the hotel's owner Stefan Sikorski, emerged relatively unscathed from the wreckage.

The helicopter plunged to the ground and burst into flames around 2.50pm at the rear of the Stables leisure club, situated within the grounds of the hotel off Walshaw Road.

The craft was bought by Mr Sikorski a week ago.

Four fire crews used a foam substance to extinguish the blaze which swept through the helicopter.

A North West Air Ambulance was also called to the scene to assist other emergency services.

Quote, "A North West Air Ambulance was also called.." How many air ambulance helicopters do NWAA now have? when I was one of the pilots there, we only had one! We certainly couldn't afford a second.

No, not quite, the owner is: LAKESIDE COLLECTION LTD

He's probably a director of Lakeside Collections Ltd.

to answer a question above mr. sikorski is the owner of Lakeside collection which trades as Lavender Hotels. There was only one air abulance which I saw of at the time. Wouldn't have liked to be in the grounds of the bolholt at the time this happened but I am glad to hear no one was injured.

I was in my garden at that time. I heard the helecopter for a while then a big bang and saw all the smoke. The emergency services were there quickly and another helicopter came just after. Its lucky that nobody was hurt as there was loads of smoke.
