AIMING high for a peak' performance. That's a group of six Bury workers who will climb Britain's three highest mountains in aid of charity next month.
The staff from international food distribution company 3663 are taking part in the gruelling Three Peaks Challenge to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in the space of just 24 hours.
Money raised will go towards Rainbow Trust, a charity which provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
The six, based at 3663's support centre at the Castlebrook Business Park, Pilsworth are Rick Hamilton, Andy Wheeler, Dave Rayner, Mark Carr, Shaun Chowler and Ian Moore. They will be assisted by a support team comprising colleagues Allison Wilson and Claire Deus.
Rick Hamilton has now launched an appeal for a local company or individual to loan the squad a mini-bus to help them with the Three Peaks Challenge, which begins in Scotland on Friday, June 6.
He said: "We've all been preparing and training and we've been up Pendle Hill, Winter Hill and Holcombe Hill and some of us have been going to the gym first thing in the morning. We're quite confident we can complete the challenge within the 24 hours.
"We hope to raise £2,000 and already we've received pledges of around £1,000."
Anyone who can provide a minibus can contact Rick by calling 455 3609 or emailing richardhamilton@3663.co.uk Those who wish to sponsor the six can do do by logging on to justgiving.com/3663/CFE
