BURY’S retail offer is set to grow with news that two of its long-term retailers are bringing a new look to Mill Gate shopping centre.

Bucking national trends, Loofe’s has expanded its operation, moving into larger premises.

Fellow tenant Warren James has invested in a refit. The news comes on the back of two other recent developments in the centre.

Clothing and footwear retailer Loofe’s, one of Bury’s longest-running independent retailers which has been trading in the town for more than 30 years, has relocated from The Mall to a bigger unit in Union Street.

Director Nicky Loofe said: ‘We are very much a Bury business, so when we decided to move to larger store we knew we wanted to do so within the Mill Gate.

“We wanted to do something unique with the space. So, we are excited to unveil our distinct graffiti design staircase.”

National jewellery retailer, Warren James, has seen its Bury store transformed. Ashley Surridge, deputy manager, said it was hoped the new look “will continue to strengthen our relationship with our Bury customers”.

Two recent openings in Mill Gate have created opportunities. Women’s clothing retailer Anna is trading in The Haymarket and electronic cigarette retailer Cigtronica have opened in Princess Parade, both creating new jobs.
