A solicitor at Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall has become a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel.

Mark Taylor, based at the firm’s Bury office in Manchester Road, attained the accreditation following assessment and experience tests in the field of child law.

The 50-year-old, who has more than 20 years of experience in the field and has worked at Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall since 1989, is now on a list of a handful of lawyers in the region who can act on behalf of children.

The placement on the panel also demonstrates the law firm’s commitment to providing expert advice on a range of issues, such as working out arrangements for children during a divorce, child custody issues and the legal rights of children. It is particularly relevant in care cases where social services are involved when children are removed from their parents.

Five solicitors at Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall, which has offices across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, now possess the accreditation.

Mr Taylor said: “Becoming a member of the panel is a great achievement. It not only helps to give our clients assurance that the firm meets the highest standards of client care but nationally recognised standards helps to differentiate the firm in a competitive market place.”
