A BURY company which specialises in providing lone workers with alert and monitoring solutions is expanding its business development and enhancing computer facilities.

Lone Worker Solutions, which was started only two years ago and employs 12 staff, offers a range of high-tech solutions aimed at ensuring the safety of workers such as nurses, social workers, security staff and estate agents while they are working outside a normal office environment.

The firm, located in Chesham Fold Road, uses its Lone Worker Manager Platform system to safely monitor and communicate with members of the workforce via their mobiles, computers or via dedicated devices.

Personnel who are out on their own can use any of those devices.

An alert is raised with their employer if they press an alert button or fail to respond to an electronic or automated voice-call prompt asking for their passcode after set intervals.

Customers of Lone Worker Solutions can subscribe to a flexible user model allowing for all the appropriate staff to have access to their safety solution, but only those that have the need to use it on a monthly basis pay for the service.

This “pay-as-you-go” arrangement is new to this marketplace, with the standard arrange-ment being a monthly subscription.

A loan from NatWest, will enable the company to expand its sales team. A one-month free trial offered to potential clients has created a lot of interest which has already started to convert into substantial new business.

Funding has also been set aside for new IT equipment, enabling the technology to be as robust as possible and allowing for scaling up in line with increasing user numbers while maintaining the highest levels of service.

George Stavrinidis, managing director of Lone Worker Solutions, said: “We are investing in the new IT equipment as part of our continued commitment to improving our services.”

He said the business is looking to expand and praised the support provided by NatWest senior relationship manager John Platt.

Mr Stavrinidis added: “John was astute and proactive throughout the deal. He asked the right questions and we also liked the fact he was straight with us about how NatWest could support us.”

Mr Platt said: ”I’m so pleased we’ve been able to support Lone Worker Solutions. I’m looking forward to working with the firm in the future and wish all those involved every success.”
