SELECTING a vibrant Bury as the North West hub of a thriving recruitment company could be just the job for many unemployed people and those seeking a career change.

Businessman Brendan Howarth has chosen the town to spearhead Recruitment Solution’s presence in the region and the decision is already reaping rewards.

Mr Howarth said: “I started the company seven years ago in Didcot in Oxfordshire. We have recently expanded and have opened new premises in Market Street in Bury. Before that, we occupied a small office in Lester House.

“Providing temporary and permanent staff to the driving, warehousing, construction and commercial sectors, we have secured several local contracts already. We supply business with their staffing requirements in Manchester and other North West towns, providing job opportunities for the local community.”

Bury’s growing reputation as something of a boom town, due to significant investment over the past few years, acted as the primary catalyst for Mr Howarth to choose the town as the firm’s second home.

“I see Bury as a thriving and up and coming town. There’s more investment here compared to other towns the same size elsewhere. That is why I’ve chosen Bury as our North West base.”

Recruitment Solutions is a privately owned consultancy, established to supply the increasing demand for high-calibre personnel in the construction, warehousing, industrial, retail and administration industries.

“We want to become Bury’s number one local agency for those sectors and to find local people local contracts. We have six sales consultants who are tasked with contacting potential new companies, offering our recruitment services.”

Mr Howarth said it was a “double-edged” sword in terms of trying to achieve the right balance when it comes to getting staff and businesses on board.

“We want people to visit us, to get to know us and register with us. Currently, we are receiving between 15 and 20 vacancies a week from our client base. Overall, since we expanded into Bury, the response has been fantastic.

“We want to continue the work we are doing and to expand our office. We want to continue to build strong working relationships with local companies and the Bury community and really establish ourselves as a trusted and well-known hirer of people.”
