BOSSES at a Bury building firm are jumping for joy after landing a contract to fit out a £160,000 trampoline park.

The Jigsaw Group, based at the Woodhill Business Park, have been tasked by Active Entertainment Ltd with converting an empty warehouse in Westhoughton into a state-of-the-art trampoline park called Air Vault.

The new centre, which will offer a range of fun trampoline-based activities for adults and children, will utilise a 700 square metre jump zone, and is on course to open to the public in time for the October half-term holidays.

Included in the project is the installation of a first floor mezzanine, cafe counter and party rooms, new and extended toilets, a first aid room and lift access to the first floor.

When finished, the facility will feature inter-connected trampolines, angled wall trampolines, tumbling trampoline lanes, curved and double-curved trampolines, dismount platforms, foam pits, slam-dunk basketball hoops, a dodgeball court and a separate area for parents and toddlers.

Steve Collett, managing director of Jigsaw, added: “This is a great project for us to be involved in. Trampoline parks are a relatively new phenomenon, with only a handful currently open in the UK, so for Jigsaw to win the contract to build the first one in the area is a real privilege for all of our team.”

Andrew Caldwell, a spokesman for Active Entertainment Ltd, said: “We spoke to a number of building contractors but decided to go with Jigsaw because they have a reputation for imaginative, cost effective solutions.

“They are known in the industry for the quality of their work and their ability to meet tight deadlines. Their portfolio of work also included endorsements from Iceland Foods Ltd and JD Sports, so it was an easy decision to appoint them in the end.”
