BUILDING sites in Bury will be targeted during a health and safety blitz.
The town is one of a number of locations selected as a venue for a “white van road show” aimed at tackling poor safety standards. The campaign co-incides with a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) programme embracing 1,500 construction sites, including 200 in the North West.
Sponsored by construction companies, union UCATT and supported by the HSE, the road show will take messages about health and safety in the construction industry directly to the workers on site.
