A MEMBER of Worth Cheshire Probus Club, Mr D. Blunt, gave a talk entitled 40 Years On The Stage.

The influence of his parents first made him interested in the amateur stage. During his time he has played in 122 productions of all types and played the parts in many nationalities.

His performances were encouraged by his girlfriend, now his wife, on a stage in Poynton.

Two monologues, Sam's Slow Note and Explaining Cricket To A Russian caused lots of laughter.

Tales of amusing incidents when stage lights failed' actors forgot lines or came on stage at the wrong time where amusing.

Mr Blunt was a founder member of Woodford Amateur Dramatic Society. The group built their own theatre in 1954 andin 1995 won the Greater Manchester Federation Drama Award. Mr Blunt himself has been awarded the Greater Manchester Federation Lifetime Award for services to amateur theatre.
