A man has stolen cash from a 90-year-old woman after he tricked his way into her home.
The distraction burglary took place at April 29 on Billinge Road, Wigan.
The man called at the victim's home between 4.15pm and 4.45pm. He explained he was working at a house on her street and was waiting for someone to arrive. He then asked if he could use her toilet.
The victim agreed and waited downstairs while the offender used her bathroom.
He then reappeared and spoke briefly to his victim before leaving her house.
A short time later, the victim discovered the house had been searched and cash had been stolen.
The offender is described as white, in his 50s and about 5ft 10ins tall. He has short brown hair, was clean-shaven and wearing dark trousers and a dark grey coat.
Inspector Peter Clarke of Pemberton neighbourhood policing team said: "This is an appalling crime, for someone to behave in this way targeting a vulnerable woman.
"Unfortunately this incident will leave a lasting impression on her and her family.
"The type of person who commits crimes such as this needs to be held accountable for their actions, so I am asking anyone who may have details about this to please get in touch."
If anyone has any information about this crime or recognises the description of the offender please contact Pemberton community police on 0161 856 7188 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
