Woman hit by car 'critical'

A 21-year-old woman is in a critical condition after a collision in Fallowfield this morning.

Police received reports just before 2am that a woman had been in collision with a black Renault Clio on Wilmslow Road, near to the junction with Wilbraham Road.

Officers went to the scene and found the woman had suffered serious head injuries.

She was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary where her condition is described as critical.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Road Policing Unit at West Didsbury police station on 0161 856 6173.
