A MAN is set to face trial this May after denying causing the death of a Prestwich man by dangerous driving.

Michael Rollason, aged 39, is accused of killing 47-year-old cyclist Terry Brown while behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Astra in February last year.

A post mortem examination revealed that Mr Brown, of Gardner Road, Prestwich, died as a result of a head injury.

The keen cyclist was found injured in Warrington Road, Bold Heath, on February 18 last year.

Liverpool Crown Court heard that an estimated four-day trial would be listed for May 5.

Rollason, now living in Wootton Street, Bedworth, Warwickshire, spoke only to confirm his name and enter his not guilty plea, before briefly questioning his bail arrangements.

One of Mr Brown's family members shouted insults at the defendant from the public gallery and had to be asked to leave the courtroom.

Rollason, wearing a dark suit with an open shirt in court, was then remanded on bail.
