A MAN has pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving.

But Michael Rollason, aged 39, denies causing the death of Prestwich cyclist Terry Brown by dangerous driving.

He will stand trial today at Liverpool Crown Court after pleading not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.

Rollason, of Wootton Street, Bedworth, Warwickshire, denies killing 47-year-old cyclist Terry Brown by dangerous driving while behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Astra on February 18, 2014.

Mr Brown, who was a keen cyclist, was found injured in Warrington Road, Bold Heath, and died as a result of head injuries.

He grew up in Prestwich but was living in Warrington at the time of his death.

The jury is expected to be sworn in this afternoon with the evidence to be heard over the next three days.
