REVELLERS from last year's Parklife festival have sent an influx of photographs taken at the event to police investigating Robert Hart’s death.

Mr Hart, aged 26, died on Wednesday, June 11 last year - five days after he was attacked at the music festival, leaving him fighting for life with a bleed on the brain. Police are still looking for his attacker.

This week an email address, helpbobby@gmp.police.uk, was set up by the investigation team to receive any photographs or video footage from the two-day festival, and the hashtag #helpbobby is being used on social media in a bid to catch the attacker.

Police have since received more than 80 new emails with information and are delighted with the response from the public.

Det Supt Phil Reade said: “We are really pleased with the response that we have had from the public since the new email address was set up and the hashtag started being used on social media.

“I would just like to say a huge thank you to the public for the support that the new appeal has received so far and hopefully with their continued help, web can finally identify the man responsible for Robert’s tragic death.

“We have been previous been within a few feet of having seeing this man in a picture and being able to identify him, but unfortunately the shot we need has eluded us.

“I want to encourage people to keep coming forward and continue with your fantastic support, whether that is by using the hashtags on social media or by sending in any videos or images.

“Robert’s attacker is on one of those photos somewhere, but we still need the public’s help to find him and bring some peace to the loved ones he has left behind.”

Over the last 12 months, more than 200 potential suspects and witnesses have been interviewed by officers, who have trawled through hundreds of hours of video footage and photographs in a bid to identify the offender.

A £23,000 reward offered by the Parklife organisers and Crimestoppers remains available to anyone who provides information which leads to the conviction of Robert’s attacker.
