A SERIES of free roadshows offering advice to improve people's health and wealth will visit Prestwich and Whitefield.

The BREAD (Budgeting, Rent, Energy, Advice and Debt) events, organised by Six Town Housing, will give residents the chance to speak with experts about money matters, employment, and general health and wellbeing.

The roadshow will visit Victoria Park in Whitefield from 2pm to 6pm on Tuesday, July 28, and St Mary's Park in Prestwich on Tuesday, August 4.

Free zumba and badminton sessions run by coaches from I Will If You Will - the fitness movement in Bury that is helping to get more women and girls more active - will also feature at the events.

There will also be entertainment for children, including face painting, bouncy castles and giant games, such as Jenga and Connect 4.

John Merrick, director of neighbourhoods at Six Town Housing, said: “Our BREAD events provide a fun family afternoon out and will also help local residents find out about a range of services in the area that could help make their lives easier.”

Kelloggs and Warburtons have also donated a limited amount of cereal and bread, which will be given out to people attending.

Councillor Rishi Shori, Deputy Leader of Bury Council, said: “The events will help Six Town Housing tenants keep the kids entertained during the summer holidays and can also help signpost them to ways they can save money or maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

The roadshow's park events will complement I Will if You Will's ‘Get More From Outdoors’ campaign which is running throughout the summer, encouraging residents across the borough to get outdoors and take advantage of what their local parks have to offer.

BREAD will also visit Radcliffe, Brandlesholme, Bury East and Ramsbottom.
