A YOUNG beautician from Whitefield is celebrating winning first place at a hair and beauty competition hosted by Bury College.
Zoe Hilton, aged 20, claimed first place in the Level 3 Nails Photographic competition.
The college welcomed hundreds of students from across Greater Manchester to compete in the Hair and Beauty Skills Competition as part of the annual GMCG Inter College Competitions.
The Bury College student, who is currently working at Chrome Beauty Salon in Walmersley and is a former pupil of Bury Church of England High School, said: “I was so shocked to hear that I had won and I'm over the moon.
"The competition has really improved my confidence and has developed my time management skills.”
The event, which was organised by the Greater Manchester Colleges Group, was an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and gain competition experience.
