A WOMAN from Bury has died in a motorcycle crash.
The crash happened on the A165 Coastal Road near Burniston, Scarborough, North Yorkshire, at about 10.45am on Sunday.
North Yorkshire Police said a blue Citroen Xsara Picasso was travelling north on the road when it was in collision with a red Yamaha motorbike travelling in the same direction.
The pillion passenger, a 44-year-old woman from Bury, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The rider of the motorbike, a man in his forties, was seriously injured and remains in hospital, and the driver of the car - a man from Yorkshire in his forties - was uninjured.
A spokesman said officers want to speak to the driver of a maroon bus or van which passed the scene heading south just before the crash, as they believe the driver or passengers would be able to assist the investigation.
Anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to the crash, or has information which could assist police, should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
