POLICE are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing man from Prestwich.

Michael David Lees, aged 52, was reported missing on October 1 and has not been seen by friends or family since.

Michael is a vulnerable man and he is not believed to be in possession of his medication, which may cause his health to deteriorate.

He was last seen on CCTV accessing a cash machine on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow, Scotland on October 2.

Detective Sergeant Darren Roughneen, of Bury Police, said: “We are growing very concerned about Michael’s whereabouts and we don’t know if he has returned to Manchester or if he is in another part of the UK.

“He was last seen in Glasgow but he has previously mentioned that he would like to attempt to get to the Scottish Highlands so it’s possible that he may have moved on to other areas of Scotland.

“He is quite a shy character and it is likely that he will look to be in secluded or isolated locations so he may not necessarily be seen on a busy high street.

“If anybody sees Michael then I would like to urge them to please contact the police and, likewise, Michael if you see this appeal please call and let us know you are okay.”

Call police on 101 with information, quoting reference number 1809 of 01/10/15.
